It’s an exciting time for us here at Flowertown Charm Farm, as we are introducing our new goat’s milk soap & soy candle line!!!!
Our Farm Dream
When my husband and I decided to move to South Carolina, we knew we wanted a farm on some land, but we also wanted a historic home, that was still close to his work. We couldn’t find what we wanted in close proximity so we compromised and bought our current fixer-upper historic farmhouse, that was only on a half acre. That didn’t stop us from having a farm! We now have a mini-farm of goats & chickens, dogs & cats, and we couldn’t be happier.
Why Goat Milk?
Our 2 dwarf goat sisters, “Magnolia” & “Wisteria” inspired us to start this line of goat’s milk soaps & soy candles. Goats have to have “kids” in order to provide milk which is what we plan to do this month, is breed them to have kids in the spring! If you might be interested in getting a goat kid check back here in the spring for kids for sale! After the spring and continued kidding seasons. we will be having an endless supply of milk which I am very excited about! You can use goats milk as regular milk, make cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream, and of course soap! The breed of goat we have, the Nigerian Dwarf Goat, actually is known for having the best tasting goats milk! I personally have a cow dairy allergy, when I eat cheese or milk I get an upset tummy, I break out, I get lethargic, moody, and have brain fog. So although cheese is literally my favorite food, I try my best to stay away from it, hence why we got goats and will be providing our own dairy source! Cool huh?
What Got Us Started on Soaps
I decided a few months ago to practice making soap, so I didn’t waste the girls milk experimenting. I practiced & practiced, and finally came up with a recipe I fell in love with! I loved it so much I started sharing bars with family & friends and was told over and over I should be selling them. I recently found an amazing local goat dairy farm where I can get milk from in the meantime, so that’s what brought us here, we are officially selling them! Our soaps are soft & creamy bars, that leave you feeling clean without feeling dry, they’re very moisturizing. They are made with all natural ingredients, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil or kukui nut oil, lye & of course goat’s milk!
Soy Candles
I didn’t want to stop at just the soaps and wanted to have more than one product to sell, so I came up with our milk bottle and apothecary jar soy candles! Each candle is a clean burning 100% soy wax with a hemp wick. I thought the milk bottles were too cute to pass up and went with our farm theme so well, while also being so unique. The apothecary jars are also perfect for a farmhouse and the wood lids just give them that extra touch.
Inspiring Scents
Our candles and soaps come in a bunch of scents, I have been testing scents from many different companies and making sure each one is delicious. Our scents have been inspired by our farm, our love of the south, and our aloha spirit. I think our line represents Flowertown Charm perfectly, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I hope y’all will give it a try, and let me know how much you like (love) it!
