Aloha Charmers! This week I wanted to share how we made a wine bar area in our kitchen! Chris and I LOVE WINE, so we thought we would make a wine bar in the kitchen for some wine bottles, glasses, and openers, etc. So first we ordered a stemware holder from Amazon, stained it, and we installed that in an open cabinet in our the “wine bar”! We have saved all of our corks over the years, as I am sure many of you wine lovers do too, and we decided to make a backsplash out of the wine corks! So to do this we first had to cut them in half. We found the easiest way to do that was to soak the corks overnight, and then used an exacto knife blade and a hammer to cut them in half. Chris did the cutting while I starting the gluing, we used a simple hot glue gun, and started sticking them to the wall! And that was it, easy, simple, but awesome results! We now have our wine bar finished, and have enjoyed it a couple ties already 😉
Chris also took the week off last week so we could work on our new garden! We worked day and night the whole week working on it and a couple other goodies! I will be sharing them with your in my next post! Here is a sneak peek of it half way done! 🙂

I love the wine bar! The Garden is adorable.
Question: Did you have to allow the corks to dry before you hot glued them?
Jenna Panehal-Pelayo says
Hi Georgia, the corks weren’t that soaked up when we cut them, so we went right ahead and glued them on damp. It didn’t effect our glue or anything.
