Aloha, I wanted to share some of the pictures of our house before we started our renovation and makeover of our 1850’s colonial farmhouse. I never shared these with anyone before, NOT EVEN MY PARENTS, because I didn’t want to scare them! I wanted us to make progress on the house so there was a good “before & after”, otherwise y’all would be thinking we live in a dump, haha. But now looking back, we really have come a long way, and I didn’t even realize it until I saw these again! So here you go, this is what our house looked like exactly a year ago, before we bought it!
So as you can see, we have come a looooonnngggg way from a year ago, but we still have quite a bit to do! Next we are hoping to gut this bathroom you see last in the pictures with the claw foot tub. It needs all new drywall, tile, light fixtures, faucets, tub needs refinished, new sink, window coverings, and we have already replaced the toilet. We hope to start on that this summer…These are some of the items I have been eyeballing for inspiration and possibly incorporating into the guest bathroom!

That kitchen! Is just so picture perfect and seeing what it was! Wow, I’m speechless. I can’t believe how much you guys have done in a year, it’s just so overwhelming.. I hope that when you finish you have the most wonderful feeling of accomplishment and pride because you are doing an amazing job..

Thanks you Georgia!!! It really is crazy how far we have come! We are so proud of how things are turning out and being careful to make smart decisions so we don’t have to redo them later! Thanks for all the support! Means a lot!!

I only saw the “good” before pictures., and I thought, “Nooooo, it’s too old, too much work, and haunted.” Ha, ha, ha on me.. The two of you had the foresight and are doing a phenomenal job! I’m so proud of both of you and your teamwork.
Jenna Panehal-Pelayo says
Haha, exactly why we didn’t want to show you how bad it was until we made some improvements, we definitely had to look past the bad to see the beauty underneath! So glad you approve mom! Can’t wait for you to see it in person!

Thank you Bethany! She is a work in progress, we will definitely keep posting as we go along! Its amazing that the house was destroyed in the civil war as many homes in the area were…kinda cool!
